Bhubaneswar:Aug 12 [UDN}:A two-day National Conclave and Policy Dialogue on Tuberculosis was successfully concluded at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, organised in collaboration with the Policy Resilience Foundation (PRF).
Addressing the valedictory ceremony as the chief guest, Odisha Legislative Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy stressed the need for greater collaboration and partnership among AIIMS Bhubaneswar, the Odisha Government and other stakeholders to translate scientific evidence into effective public-health interventions for TB elimination.
She also emphasised exploring pilot initiatives involving advanced genotypic testing and greater use of technology in the fight against tuberculosis.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling called for coordinated efforts involving government agencies, medical institutions, researchers, laboratories, frontline health workers and communities to achieve effective TB elimination.
AIIMS Bhubaneswar Executive Director Dr. Ashutosh Biswas said that the institute plans to introduce advanced TB testing on a pilot basis in two districts of Odisha, with discussions currently underway.
AIIMS Bhubaneswar Medical Superintendent Dr. Prabhas Ranjan Tripathy, PRF founder Nandish Pithani, conference organising chairman Dr. Prashant Raghav Mahapatra and organising secretary Dr. Saurin Bhuyan were also present at the valedictory ceremony.
