Nabarangpur, May 09: Students of Nabarangpur district appeared for the NEET (UG) 2026 National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test conducted across India on Sunday for admission into medical courses.
In Nabarangpur district, two educational institutions — RCD High School and PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya in Nabarangpur town — were selected by the National Testing Agency (NTA) as examination centres for the national-level test.
For the smooth conduct of the examination, a district-level coordination committee was formed under the chairmanship of the District Collector, and nodal officers were assigned various responsibilities. Nabarangpur Tahasildar Bhuleswar Naik and Nandahandi Tahasildar Chandrahas Mahanandia served as magistrate duty officers.
Additional Superintendent of Police Aditya Sen and DSP (DIB) Binod Lakra acted as police nodal officers and managed law and order, traffic, parking, and other security arrangements.
Arrangements were made for 230 candidates at PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya and 240 candidates at RCD High School.
To ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the examination, District Collector Dr. Maheshwar Swain, along with Additional District Magistrate (Revenue) Biswajit Chandra Barman, Administrative Nodal Officer Sobhen Panda, District Education Officer Chhatrapati Sahu, and other officials visited the examination centres in advance and ensured facilities such as drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, wheelchairs for differently-abled candidates, fire safety, CCTV surveillance, jammers, DG backup, parking, and other necessary arrangements.
The examination was conducted from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and consisted of 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
A total of 470 candidates had received admit cards for the examination at both centres, out of which 441 candidates appeared for the test, while 29 remained absent.
