Bhubaneswar, July 7 (UDN): The Odisha government has approved 24 new adventure tourism projects across the state, marking a major step towards expanding adventure-based tourism while ensuring strict safety and regulatory standards.
The projects have been cleared under the Odisha Adventure Tourism Guidelines, 2025, which aim to create a structured framework for safe, responsible, and professionally managed adventure activities across the state.
The approvals were granted during the third meeting of the State Level Technical Committee (SLTC), which reviewed 27 proposals covering land, water, and aero-based adventure tourism. After evaluating field inspection reports, district-level recommendations, and applications submitted through the ‘Go Adventure’ portal, the committee approved 24 projects.
Of the approved proposals, three projects received Licence to Operate, while 21 projects were granted Recognition to Set Up, allowing them to establish adventure tourism facilities after meeting required standards.
The approved projects include water-based adventure activities at destinations such as Talsari Udaipur Beach in Balasore, Haldia Dam in Mayurbhanj, Chandipur Beach, Paradip Muhana, Pitamahal Dam, Chandrabhaga Beach, Puri Beach, and other locations. Aero adventure projects were also approved at sites including Talsari Udaipur Beach, Chandipur Beach, Talamali in Koraput, Puri Beach, and Satapada in Chilika.
Officials said the approvals reflect the state government’s commitment to promoting adventure tourism while prioritising visitor safety, technical compliance, and responsible development.
The initiative is expected to create new tourism opportunities, encourage private participation, and strengthen Odisha’s position as an emerging destination for adventure and nature-based tourism.
