Cuttack, July 3 {UDN}: A Sex-Sorted Semen Production Centre with an annual production capacity of 1 lakh doses has been established in Cuttack, Odisha. Artificial insemination using sex-sorted semen is now being implemented across all districts of the state to improve livestock breeding.
This advanced reproductive technology enables farmers to achieve up to a 90% probability of female calf births, helping increase the population of high-yielding dairy cattle. The initiative is expected to boost milk production, enhance farmers’ incomes, and strengthen Odisha’s dairy sector through scientific livestock management.
