Bhubaneswar, Oct 7 [UDN}: There is a specific time period required for the production of quality fish seed in fish farming.
In a nursery pond, tiny fish seed (spawn) develops into fry within just 15 to 20 days. However, in a rearing pond, adequate time is required for the fry to grow into fingerlings, and subsequently for the fingerlings to develop into larger advanced fish seed (munda).
Proper management of each growth stage and allowing sufficient time in the rearing pond are essential for producing healthy and quality fish seed.
