Nabarangpur, June 19, {UDN}: A preparatory meeting was held today at the Ashok Mehta Conference Hall under the chairmanship of District Collector Dr. Maheshwar Swain to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2026.
Among those present at the meeting were Additional District Magistrate (General) Dr. Pramod Kumar Prusti, Additional Superintendent of Police Aditya Sen, DSP Saroj Poonam Kispotta, NEET City Coordinator Hitesh Verma, Deputy Collector Sobhan Panda, and other officials.
For the examination, the RCD High School, Nabarangpur, and PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, Nabarangpur have been designated as examination centres by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
A district-level coordination committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of the District Collector, and responsibilities have been assigned to nodal officers for the smooth management of the examination. The Tahsildars of Nabarangpur and Nandahandi have been appointed as Magistrate Duty Officers, while police officials have been entrusted with maintaining security, peace, and law and order at the examination centres.
To ensure the examination is conducted efficiently and peacefully, arrangements have been made for drinking water, sanitation facilities, uninterrupted power supply, wheelchairs for differently-abled candidates, fire safety measures, CCTV surveillance, jammers, DG power backup, parking facilities, ambulance services, transportation support, free bus services, frisking, and other necessary amenities. Responsibilities for these arrangements have been assigned to the concerned officials.
The examination is scheduled to be held on 21 June 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM.
The meeting was also attended by Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) Dr. Malaya Pradhan, Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Jitendra Bhoi, District Social Security Officer (DSSO) Sudhanshu Patra, District Information and Public Relations Officer (DIPRO) Manoj Behera, Tahsildar of Nabarangpur Bholeswar Nayak, Tahsildar of Nandahandi Chandrahas Mahanandia, Additional Education Officers, heads of examination centres, and other concerned officials.
