Outsourcing Workers Take to Streets with Key Demands

Nandapur,March, 14: Following a call for agitation by the State Outsourcing Employees’ Association, outsourcing employees working in Koraput district and Nandapur block observed a work stoppage protest on Tuesday.

Due to the strike, several services in the block were disrupted, including MGNREGS works, social security schemes, housing-related activities, and supply department operations. At the tehsil office, revenue department work was affected, and schemes under the Women and Child Development Department such as Poshan, Mamata, and Subhadra were also halted.

Similar situations were reported in the health and education departments. Many people who came to government offices had to return after finding the concerned employees absent.

It has been reported that the protest will continue for an indefinite period. As March marks the end of the financial year, officials have expressed concern that the delay may affect the achievement of government targets.

The state government has been urged to immediately hold discussions with the Outsourcing Employees’ Association and restore normal functioning of government offices.
