Bhubaneswar, Aug 26 [UDN}Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida attended the state-level training camp on the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 and the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961, organized by the Department of Women and Child Development.
The primary objective of the training camp was to strengthen awareness at the grassroots level about the legal rights, protection mechanisms, and avenues for justice available to women. The programme focused on ensuring that women are better informed about the laws designed to protect them from domestic violence, dowry-related harassment, and other forms of abuse.
Speaking on the importance of such initiatives, the programme emphasized the need for effective implementation of legal safeguards and greater awareness among communities, particularly at the grassroots level. Empowering women with knowledge of their rights can help them seek timely assistance and legal protection when faced with violence, harassment, or injustice.
