Pride for Odisha as Odia Film “1999” Earns Recognition on Global Cinema Platform

Bhubaneswar,  June 10:  The Odia film 1999 has achieved success at the international level. In February, the film won the Runner-up award in the Feature Film category at the India International Star Film Festival held in Kolkata. It has also been selected for the semi-final group at the World Film Festival organized in Cannes, France. The recognition of an Odia film abroad is considered a matter of pride for the state.

The producer of the film, Dr. Manoj Kumar Mishra, has simultaneously worked as the story writer, lyricist, dialogue writer, and actor. “1999” is also regarded as the first “VIVIK”-titled film in the Odia film industry.

Dr. Mishra has made remarkable contributions to literature as well. Over the past six years, he has written 37 books, along with 1,115 poems and 365 short stories in both Odia and English. In addition, he has authored six “Advanced English and Grammar” books for the convenience of Odia readers.

Currently, Dr. Manoj Kumar Mishra is serving as the director of a hospital in Bhubaneswar. A resident of Rajnagar village under Patna block in Keonjhar district, Dr. Mishra’s achievement has brought great happiness and pride to the local people.
