Promising Sporting Talent from Umerkote Excels at 2nd State Junior Weightlifting Championship Held at Biju Patnaik Weightlifting Centre in Kalinga Stadium

Bhubaneswar,  July 29 UDN}:  With the aim of promoting sports in the state and nurturing new sporting talent, athletes from the Multipurpose Indoor Stadium in Umerkote have brought immense pride to their district by delivering an outstanding performance at the 2nd State Junior Under-12 and Under-14 Boys’ and Girls’ Weightlifting Championship, held at the Biju Patnaik Weightlifting Centre located at Kalinga Stadium.

These young athletes, who are undergoing training under the guidance of coach Nakul Santa, have achieved remarkable success in the competition.

Suraj Santa, Manjita Kalar, Gita Santa, and Deepak Santa won gold medals, emerging as the “golden boys and golden girls” of the state. Similarly, Prashant Santa, Manoranjan Santa, and Jayanti Rathar secured silver medals, while Megha Patnaik, Harapriya Nayak, Laxmipriya Nayak, and Laxmi Santa won bronze medals, bringing honour and recognition to their families and their home region.

Following this glorious achievement, congratulations and best wishes have been pouring in from various sections of society for all the successful young athletes.

District Sports Officer Satyajit Gahan, In-Charge Officer of the Multipurpose Indoor Stadium Ashok Kumar Sahu, Managing Director of the Multipurpose Sports Institution M. Vijay Kumar, Women’s Sports Coordinator of the District Sports Association Er. Chandana Mallik, and the office-bearers of the District Weightlifting Association have all congratulated the talented athletes and expressed their hope that these young sporting talents will go on to bring glory to Odisha and the country at national and international levels in the coming days.
