Phulbani, July 1 {UDN}:: Rotary District Governor for the 2025–26 term, Rotarian Manoj Tripathy, accompanied by First Lady Madhusmita Tripathy, paid a two-day official visit to the Rotary Club of Phulbani, located on Narayani Road. The visit focused on reviewing the club’s performance, assessing its service initiatives, and encouraging members to strengthen their commitment to humanitarian activities.
During the visit, District Governor Manoj Tripathy held a detailed discussion with Rotary Club Phulbani President Prakash Panda and Secretary Biraja Prasad Nahak regarding the club’s financial statements for the 2025–26 Rotary year. They also reviewed the various community welfare projects undertaken by the club and discussed future plans to enhance its service activities.
On their arrival in Phulbani, Manoj Tripathy and Madhusmita Tripathy were accorded a grand and warm welcome by members of the Rotary Club. Club members expressed their appreciation for the Governor’s visit and reaffirmed their commitment to Rotary’s motto of selfless service.
As part of the visit, the Rotary Club organized a charitable outreach programme at Balashram, a children’s residential institution in the town. Around 50 resident children received educational and essential supplies, including notebooks, pencils, erasers, biscuits, chocolates, and traditional gamuchhas. District Governor Manoj Tripathy personally distributed the materials and interacted with the children, motivating them to focus on their education, develop strong values, and strive for a brighter future through discipline and hard work.
The Governor and his team also visited Shakti Sadan, a shelter home for distressed and abused women. During the visit, they distributed clothing and extended their support and encouragement to the women residing at the facility, reaffirming Rotary’s dedication to serving vulnerable sections of society.
The programme witnessed the participation of several prominent Rotary members and office-bearers. Those present included Assistant Governor and senior Rotarian Bipra Charan, President-designate for the 2026–27 Rotary year and senior advocate Bijay Pattnaik, Secretary-designate and senior journalist Sunil Pattnaik, along with D. Aruna, Urmila Panda, Shubhra Pattnaik, Sunita Nayak, and several other Rotarians.
In the evening, a fellowship meeting was organized where District Governor Manoj Tripathy attended as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, he urged Rotary members to expand their service-oriented initiatives and continue working with dedication for the welfare of society. He emphasized that meaningful community service, compassion, and collective efforts remain the true foundation of Rotary’s mission and encouraged members to take up more impactful projects that would benefit people across all sections of society.
