Rural Households Hit as LPG Refill Waiting Period Increased to 45 Days

Bhubaneswar, March, 19: – Due to the war in the Middle East, shortages of petroleum products and LPG have been observed. People in Odisha are facing moderate inconvenience. As a result, on Friday, some protests and road blockages were reported by local residents and political groups.

At several places, demonstrations and road blockades took place. Commercial LPG (used for business purposes) has been regulated. Accordingly, only 20% of the previously used commercial gas will now be supplied.

Similarly, in rural areas, LPG delivery frequency has been reduced from a few days to a longer interval. This was conveyed by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry during a briefing on Friday regarding the availability and smooth distribution of cooking gas (LPG) across the country. The meeting was attended by the Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Gas and the Secretary of the Consumer Affairs Department.

Bhubaneswar, 133 (Rabinarayan Jena) – The state government has clarified that there is no shortage of cooking gas in the state, said the Food Supply and Consumer Welfare Minister, Krushnachandra Patra. He stated that the shortage observed in some areas is being monitored.
The Minister advised the public not to panic and assured that adequate quantities of LPG are available in Odisha. He appealed to citizens to remain calm and book gas according to their actual requirement.
