Sacred Ghat Yatra of Goddess Ganga Commences in Bedhasahi Amid Traditional Rituals and Spiritual Celebrations

Jeypore,  April 01:  The Ghat Yatra of Goddess Ganga commenced on Friday in the local area of Bedhasahi.
In the afternoon, devotees along with the priest proceeded in a procession to the main shrine of Goddess Ganga. After performing rituals and पूजा (worship) there, the ceremonial Ghat procession began and was brought to the Bedhasahi temple. Devotees offered prayers along the route. After reaching the temple, rituals were conducted as per tradition.
From Saturday until the 29th, the sacred Ghat of the Goddess will be taken around different localities of the town. According to the पूजा committee members, special rituals and homa yajna (fire rituals) will be performed at the temple during this period. Every evening, the Ghat will be taken in procession through various neighborhoods and brought back to the temple for further worship.
On the morning of the 29th, the concluding ceremony will take place. A grand procession with musical instruments will proceed to the Old Fort (Purunagarh) Ganga Maa Temple, where final rituals will be performed, marking the conclusion of the Ghat Yatra.
To make the event more attractive, the temple, Bedhasahi area, and the main road up to Prasada Rao Peta have been beautifully decorated with lighting.
