Bhubaneswar, July 11 (UDN): Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) Chairman and Managing Director Ashok Kumar Panda called on Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan on Saturday.
The courtesy meeting focused on issues related to the development of the steel sector in Odisha and explored opportunities for strengthening cooperation between the state government and SAIL in promoting industrial growth.
During the interaction, the Chief Minister reiterated the state government’s commitment to facilitating investments and creating a conducive ecosystem for the expansion of the steel industry. He highlighted Odisha’s abundant mineral resources, robust industrial infrastructure, and investor-friendly policies that have positioned the state as a leading destination for steel and metal manufacturing.
The discussions also covered the role of the public sector steel major in contributing to Odisha’s industrial development, employment generation, and value addition in the mineral sector.
SAIL, one of India’s largest steel producers, has a significant presence in Odisha through its mining operations and continues to play a key role in the state’s mining and steel ecosystem.
The meeting underscored the shared commitment of the state government and SAIL to accelerate industrial development and support Odisha’s vision of becoming a leading manufacturing and metals hub in the country.
