Schools May Shift to Morning Timings Soon Amid Changing Weather Conditions

Bhubaneswar: April 04: In view of the rising heatwave conditions in the state, school timings may soon be shifted to morning hours. The School and Mass Education Department is currently considering this, and a decision will be taken shortly.
School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond stated that the heatwave is intensifying in the state. A meeting between the School and Mass Education Department and the Revenue & Disaster Management Department will decide from when the morning school schedule will be implemented.
On the other hand, the Chief Minister has announced that contractual teachers will be regularized or brought at par with junior teachers. This is considered a landmark step. The minister added that all teachers appointed in the future will also be made regular.
“Khadi Chhuan” and “Pravesh Utsav” on April 2
As per the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and to encourage enrollment in foundational classes and attract children to schools, the state government will organize “Pravesh Utsav” and “Khadi Chhuan” programs.
With the new academic year beginning, these programs will be held in all schools on April 2 in the presence of parents, public representatives, and intellectuals.
On this day, awareness chariots will also travel across each block to spread awareness.
