Puri, July 10 (UDN): A fisherman went missing after falling into the Daya river while fishing near Jagulaipada under Kanas block of Odisha’s Puri district on Friday, prompting a rescue operation by emergency teams.
The fisherman reportedly fell from a boat while engaged in fishing activities. Following information about the incident, Fire Services personnel rushed to the spot and began a search operation in the river.
Rescue teams are continuing efforts to trace the missing fisherman, with searches being carried out in and around the river area. Despite ongoing operations, he had not been located at the time of reporting.
The incident has created concern among local villagers, while authorities are closely monitoring the rescue efforts and providing support during the search operation.
