Ganjam, Oct 15 [UDN}:A ‘Seva Setu’ camp was organised at the Polasara Panchayat Samiti office in Ganjam district during a district-level joint public grievance hearing, with the objective of raising awareness about government welfare schemes, facilitating access to public services and extending assistance to eligible beneficiaries.
As part of the programme, Information, Education and Communication (IEC) stalls were set up by various government departments to inform people about different welfare schemes, public services and available benefits. The stalls also facilitated the registration of new beneficiaries, helping eligible people connect with government programmes and access the assistance intended for them.
Special support was extended to persons with disabilities during the camp. Eligible beneficiaries were provided with ration cards and tricycles to help address their essential needs and improve their mobility. In addition, various self-help groups (SHGs) received government facilities and assistance to support their activities and strengthen their access to welfare benefits.
The programme was attended by the Ganjam District Collector, the Superintendent of Police, the Chief Development Officer of the District Rural Development and Panchayat administration, along with officials from the concerned departments.
The initiative highlighted the administration’s efforts to bring government services closer to the public, ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive their entitlements and address citizens’ needs through coordinated departmental participation. The ‘Seva Setu’ camp also served as a platform for public awareness, beneficiary registration and the delivery of welfare assistance at the local level.
