State Government’s Positive Assurance Brings End to Supply Assistants’ Agitation as Employees Resume Their Duties Across the State

TentulikhuntiJuly 31 UDN}: Following assurances from the Odisha state government to consider and fulfil some of their legitimate demands, supply assistants in Tentulikhunti block have decided to withdraw their agitation and resume their duties.
The supply assistants had been on mass leave since July 10, which had adversely affected the functioning of the Public Distribution System (PDS) across all 15 gram panchayats of the block. The disruption had caused difficulties in the smooth distribution of essential commodities to beneficiaries.
After discussions between representatives of the State Supply Assistants’ Association and the state government, the government reportedly assured them that their genuine demands would be addressed at the earliest. Following the assurance, the association called off its agitation and expressed its commitment to returning to work and continuing to serve the public.
In this connection, the Tentulikhunti Block Supply Assistants’ Association submitted a written letter to Block Development Officer (BDO) Monoj Kumar Panigrahi, informing him that all supply assistants in the block would resume their respective duties from Monday.
The joining letter was submitted in the presence of Block Supply Assistants’ Association President B. Tusharakanta Dashbagh, Block Secretary Suresh Chandra Bisoyi, and other members, including Krushna Rout and Bunu Korak.
The return of the supply assistants is expected to help restore normal functioning of the PDS and ensure uninterrupted delivery of essential commodities to beneficiaries across the block.
