Bhubaneswar, April 15:
School uniforms will be provided to students across the state—from Shishu Vatika (pre-school) up to Matric level—by April 27. The quality of the uniforms will also be strictly checked.
In this regard, the Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) has issued a detailed guideline today. Letters have also been sent to all District Education Officers and District Project Coordinators under Samagra Shiksha. The guidelines clearly outline the procedures to be followed in uniform preparation and distribution.
Earlier, the School and Mass Education Department had directed that all students must receive uniforms before the summer vacation. To ensure compliance, district-level committees have been instructed to closely monitor the distribution process.
Key Highlights of the Guidelines:
For the 2026–27 academic year, students from Shishu Vatika to Class 10 will receive:
School uniforms
House dress
Shoes
Socks
Additionally, students from Shishu Vatika to Class 8 will receive:
Identity cards
Caps
The responsibility for stitching uniforms will continue with existing agencies such as:
Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs)
Micro & Small Enterprises (MSEs)
School Management Committees (SMCs)
School Management & Development Committees (SMDCs)
Village Management & Development Committees (VMDCs)
District-level committees will supervise the distribution process.
A list of students enrolled for 2026–27 will be prepared, separating boys and girls to ensure proper distribution.
Important Deadlines:
By April 10: School data must reach Block Education Officers
By April 12: Review of work orders issued to agencies
By April 27: Completion of uniform distribution
By April 30: Quality check of uniforms
By May 2: Submission of final report to OSEPA after completion of distribution
These steps aim to ensure timely distribution and maintain the quality of uniforms for all students across Odisha.
