The state has entered election mode as the countdown for the Panchayat polls begins, marking the start of a crucial phase in local self-governance.

Bhubaneswar,  July 15 [UDN}:  The Panchayat elections in the state are scheduled to be held in April-May 2027, and the authorities aim to complete the entire process by June 2027. To avoid ward-related discrepancies and disputes, a door-to-door survey will be conducted for the first time, according to the Secretary of the State Election Commission.

Meanwhile, a war of words has erupted between the ruling party and the opposition over the delay in conducting the elections.
