Bhubaneswar,May 30: Surama Padhy inaugurated the third Industrial Safety and Occupational Health Conference, organized jointly by the Directorate of Factories and Boilers, Government of Odisha, and the Indian Chamber of Commerce, while attending the session as the Chief Guest.
She stated that every district of Odisha possesses immense potential, and every Odia is a skilled artisan in their own way. By properly identifying their talents and providing necessary training, many industrial sectors can be developed. However, before deploying workers in industries, training institutions must ensure that they are fully aware of workplace safety measures and are mandatorily equipped with safety gear and protective equipment.
She emphasized that the precious lives of workers are important not only for the institutions they work for, but also for the economic prosperity of the entire state and the nation. She appealed to all industrial management authorities to treat workers as members of their own families and to take primary responsibility for ensuring their physical, mental, financial, and social well-being and security.
