Traditional Dashamula Modak Offering Marks an Important Phase in the Recovery of the Divine Siblings

Puri:July 11 [UDN}:   The divine siblings are gradually recovering, as the deities of the Chaturdha Murti, who were suffering from fever during the Anasara period, are showing signs of improvement. As part of the traditional healing rituals, Dashamula Modak will be offered to the deities as a sacred herbal medicine.
The ritual is an important part of the post-Snana Purnima observances at the Jagannath Temple.
Dashamula Modak is prepared using ten medicinal herbs and is believed to aid in recovery from fever and fatigue.
Devotees eagerly await the end of the Anasara period and the reappearance of the deities during Nabajaubana Darshan.
The centuries-old tradition reflects the unique blend of faith, ritual, and Ayurveda in the Jagannath culture of Puri.
