Bhubaneswar, July 11 [UDN}: As train accidents continue to rise in the country, concerns are increasingly being raised about possible acts of sabotage behind some incidents. Many questions also emerge after every railway accident regarding its actual cause and circumstances. To address these concerns, a decision has been taken to install “Black Boxes” in trains.
With this technology, authorities will be able to monitor the movement and operational details of running trains as well as the actions of loco pilots before and during an incident. The system will help investigators determine the exact sequence of events leading to an accident.
The black box will record important data such as train speed, braking patterns, signal information, and communication records. This is expected to improve railway safety and strengthen accident investigations. The initiative is also aimed at preventing future mishaps and enhancing passenger confidence in rail travel.
