Vihaan Cuts Fossil Fuel Dependence, Launches Biomass-Based Boiler Plant

Apr 08: Vihaan Clean & Green Tech Pvt. Ltd. today announced the launch of its biomass-based boiler plant as part of its Phase 2 expansion in Gujarat. The initiative is expected to cut approximately 81,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually while contributing to circular economy practices and supporting rural supply chains. The Phase 2 boiler facility is designed to operate on 100% biomass fuel, reinforcing Vihaan’s focused efforts to reduce dependence on fossil fuels while scaling the use of biomass-based energy across its operations. By strengthening the role of biomass in its boiler systems, Vihaan is also addressing fuel volatility and building greater operational resilience. While supporting the broader Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, Vihaan, together with HyFun Foods, are actively supporting rural economies.

Advanced biomass boilers that use agricultural waste as fuel are central to this initiative, enabling effective utilization of agricultural residue to generate a dependable source of energy. This ensures continuous steam generation while supporting a more sustainable and efficient energy framework. This development comes at a crucial time when global energy markets are witnessing disruptions due to geopolitical tensions and constrained supply chains, such as through the Strait of Hormuz. Vihaan has formed strategic partnerships with leading technology providers, including Thermax and TOESL, to enhance the efficiency and performance of its biomass boiler systems through the integration of global standards.

Amit Badlani, Managing Director, Vihaan Clean & Green Tech Pvt. Ltd. & Go Green Mechanisms Pvt. Ltd. said, “Achieving this milestone is a strong affirmation of our long-held belief that industrial growth must take place on resilient and future-proofed systems. At Vihaan, we are committed to implementing infrastructure that supports present-day operations while anticipating future resource challenges. Our approach is centered on developing locally relevant solutions that enhance reliability and promote sustainability. As we expand our efforts, we see significant potential to replicate this model across industrial clusters and contribute to India’s shift toward more dependable and sustainable energy systems.”

As part of this expansion, Vihaan continues to reinforce its commitment to building Atmanirbhar Bharat through reduced reliance on imported fuels and greater use of locally available energy sources. This expansion signals progress toward a cleaner, more self-reliant industrial future, where sustainability and operational resilience go hand in hand.
