Nabarangpur, April 11: On the occasion of Odia Pakhya, a voluntary blood donation camp is going to be organized on the 10th at the Women’s Degree College premises.
In this regard, a preparatory meeting along with an awareness program was organized today by the NSS, YRC, and Sambad–Ama Odisha to ensure the smooth and organized conduct of the blood donation camp. Following the appeal of College Principal Marleswari Sahu, an awareness session was held on the college campus.
Urban hospital officer Dr. Priyabrata Nanda, YRC coordinator Samyukta Vada, NSS officer Sunita Patra, lecturers Rajjusa Praharaj, Tahira Begum, A. Rohini Rani, and others participated in the program.
Sambad district representative Suresh Naidu provided information about the initiatives being carried out under Sambad–Ama Odisha. Awareness was also given on issues like child marriage, safe motherhood, and sickle cell disease, along with explaining the importance and need for voluntary blood donation.
Principal Maleswari Sahu and Dr. Nanda highlighted the shortage of blood in blood banks and appealed to everyone to donate blood voluntarily to help save lives.
