Koraput:June 6: On the occasion of World Environment Day, a special programme was organised at Pine Resort, Koraput, where individuals and organisations contributing to environmental protection through tree plantation activities across various blocks of the district were honoured with the titles “Prakriti Mitra” and “Prakriti Bandhu”.
During the event, Shri Kunj Bihari Baidya Pattnaik of Maa Mauli Yuva Sansad, Kotpad, was awarded the title of “Prakriti Mitra,” while Shri Saroj Kumar Pattnaik was honoured as “Prakriti Bandhu.” Both were felicitated with certificates and cash rewards in recognition of their contribution.
The programme was attended by District Collector Shri Manoj Satya Ban Mahajan, RCCF Koraput, ACF Jeypore Shri Amit Prakash Nayak, Jeypore Forest Division Officer Shri Prashant Patel, Koraput Forest Division Officer, BSF Command officials, Kotpad Range Officer Shri Manas Ranjan Nayak, along with several distinguished guests and forest department officials.
On the occasion, the District Collector also unveiled the poster of the Kotpad Environment Committee.
Participants expressed that the programme would encourage and strengthen ongoing efforts toward environmental protection and tree plantation drives in the district.
