Dabugam,Oct 28 [UDN}: A block-level executive meeting of the Yadav community was held at Sana Koilari village under Dabugam Block in Nabarangpur district, Odisha, to discuss strengthening the community organisation at the grassroots level and promoting educational, social and youth development.
The meeting was presided over by Trinath Goud, Secretary of the Dabugam Block Yadav community organisation. The programme began with prayers and worship dedicated to Lord Shri Krishna.
Naba Kishore Goud, Youth President of the District Yadav Mahasabha, attended the meeting as the chief guest. The distinguished guests included Mahadev Majhi, Joint Secretary of the District Yadav Mahasabha; Sahadev Goud, Vice-President of Jharigam Block; senior community functionary Narasing Goud; and Hiran Bhai, who is responsible for media and photography activities for the District Yadav Mahasabha.
Jagabandhu Goud, a Revenue Inspector and an active supporter of the Yadav community, efficiently conducted the proceedings and coordinated the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Youth President Naba Kishore Goud highlighted the importance of strengthening the Yadav community organisation in Dabugam and Kosagumuda blocks from the grassroots level. He emphasised educational advancement, social development, access to the benefits of government welfare schemes, the progress of young people, and the preservation of unity, brotherhood and mutual cooperation within the community.
District Joint Secretary Mahadev Majhi also addressed the gathering, explaining the importance of adhering to the community’s rules and principles and working collectively to strengthen the organisation.
During the programme, Naba Kishore Goud felicitated Sanjay Goud, who had secured the top position in the Class XII Science stream in Dabugam Block in the previous academic year. The recognition was intended to appreciate the student’s academic achievement and encourage educational excellence among young members of the community.
Subsequently, office-bearers of the Yadav community were selected for Junapani and Koilari Gram Panchayats under Dabugam Block. The meeting concluded after discussions on community organisation and development.
### Youth Leaders Attend Maa Thakurani Football Tournament
Following the executive meeting, the Youth President and other community functionaries attended the Maa Thakurani Football Tournament organised at Bada Koilari village.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the youth leader highlighted that football is more than just a sport. It serves as an effective means of promoting unity, brotherhood, discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship among young people. He also stressed the importance of encouraging youth participation in sporting activities and creating opportunities for local players to demonstrate their talent.
The organisers, committee members, supporters and sports enthusiasts were warmly appreciated for arranging the tournament and providing a platform for players to showcase their abilities. The programme also conveyed a broader message of promoting sports development and empowering the younger generation through community participation.
Several members of the Yadav community attended the executive meeting, including Pritam, Sunil, Ajay, Mahadev, Meghanad, Gunadhar, Harekrushna and Somanath, along with many other community members.
The District Yadav Mahasabha expressed its heartfelt gratitude to all the Yadav community members and volunteers who worked tirelessly to make the meeting and associated programmes successful.
The event reflected the community’s continued emphasis on organisational strengthening, education, social welfare, youth empowerment and the promotion of sports at the village and block levels.
