Uttar Pradesh, Sept 3 [UDN}: The Uttar Pradesh government has taken a major decision to ensure the safety and well-being of elderly parents. The state Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, approved 24 proposals, including an important decision concerning the maintenance and welfare of elderly parents.
Under the decision, strict action will be taken against those who neglect or abandon their parents in their old age. The Uttar Pradesh government has also issued a toll-free helpline number to enable elderly parents to lodge complaints regarding neglect and lack of support.
