Odisha to Receive Centre of Excellence for Skill Development

Bhubaneswar, Mar 21: Union Minister Jayant Singh Chaudhary stressed the importance of fostering entrepreneurship in Odisha to reduce economic disparities. Speaking at the 12th Shambhavi Puraskar ceremony, he noted that while the state is resource-rich and advanced in skill development, the growth of entrepreneurs who can generate employment is crucial for bridging these gaps.

The Shambhavi Puraskar was awarded to the Centre for Integrated Rural and Tribal Development (CIRTD) for its impactful work in Sundargarh district, where it has helped improve the lives of farmers, women, children, and youth. Sibaji Panda from Sonepur also received a jury commendation for his support of children with hearing impairments.

The award includes a cash prize of ₹5 lakh, along with a citation and trophy. The ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Dr. Ashok Kumar Mahapatra and Shaifalika Panda, founder of the BIPF.
