Bhubaneswar, May 30: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced a financial grant of ₹50 lakh for the grand celebration of the famous Shital Sasthi Yatra in Sambalpur. The grant aims to enhance the scale and promotion of the festival, which holds deep cultural and traditional significance in the state.
Sharing the announcement on his official social media handle, the Chief Minister said, “Shital Sasthi Yatra is a proud symbol of our culture and heritage. Celebrated as the divine wedding of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, it reflects the rich traditions and spiritual legacy of Odisha.”
The financial assistance will support better organization, infrastructure, and wider promotion of the event at regional and national levels. The initiative is expected to further boost Sambalpur’s cultural prominence and attract increased attention from tourists and devotees alike.
