Belagaon Mahima Ashram Hosts Grand Nuakhai Rituals

Nabarangpur, 19th Aug 2025:  The Nuakhai festival was celebrated at the Mahima Ashram in Belagaon Panchayat under Jharigaon block of Nabarangpur district, under the guidance of Brahm Avadhuta Ramachandra Baba. Devotees from the Bakaldhari Mahima community of Jharigaon and Chandahandi blocks attended the event with their families and partook of the newly harvested grain (Nabanna).

On the Trayodashi tithi (13th day of the bright fortnight of the Shravan month), the Ashram witnessed continuous chanting of Brahma Dhuni, the lighting of an eternal lamp (Akhanda Deepa), and uninterrupted Mahima Nama Sankirtan, with devotees keeping vigil throughout the night. On the following Chaturdashi tithi morning, rituals were performed with Panchamruta Pana (a holy offering made of milk, curd, ghee, honey, and sugar) and Nabanna offered to Mahima Goswami. After the rituals, Ramachandra Baba distributed Nabanna among the devotees.

The festival also saw participation from all devotees of the Jharigaon Mandali who had received initiation from Brahmaleen Kailash Chandra Baba. Among the saints, ascetics, and devotees present were Sadhu Dhanurjay Das, Sadhu Jadumani Das, Sadhu Gobardhan Das, Lakhinath Bairagi, Prashanu Charan Bairagi, Bhikari Charan Bairagi, Abhimanyu Bhakta, Gajendra Bhakta, Dhanurjay Badabhai, Bhakta Tohalia, Sabha President Sandhar Bhakti, Adhikari Manohar Bhakta, Secretary Dharam Bhakti, Tohalia Ghasiram Bhakti, Assistant Editor Lakh Bhakta, along with many other devotees who offered their support to Brahm Avadhuta Ramachandra Baba in conducting the festival.
