Bangalore, Mar 25: In a significant step toward advancing women’s empowerment and livelihood opportunities, Aahwahan Foundation has launched its 47th Women Empowerment Centre in Bandenallasandra, Jigani, Bangalore – 560105. The centre introduces a free stitching and tailoring training unit aimed at equipping over 1000 underprivileged women with practical skills for financial independence. The initiative introduces a free stitching and tailoring training unit designed to empower over 1000 underprivileged women with practical vocational skills that can help them achieve financial independence. The centre has been established through a CSR collaboration with Reserve Bank Information Technology Pvt. Ltd. (ReBIT) and aims to provide structured training that will enable women from economically disadvantaged communities to build sustainable livelihoods. Through its strategic approach and inclusive programs, the foundation ensures that women are not just beneficiaries but active participants in shaping their own futures.

Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Braja Kishore Pradhan, CEO & Founder of Aahwahan Foundation, said,
“Women empowerment begins when women are provided with the right opportunities to learn, grow, and become financially independent. Through this Women Empowerment Centre in Bangalore, our goal is to provide women with practical skills that enable them to create their own livelihood opportunities and support their families with dignity. Skill development is not just about employment, it is about confidence, self-reliance, and creating long-term social change. One of the most inspiring aspects is that many of these women aspire to start their own businesses in the future.”
The newly launched centre will offer structured training programs in stitching, tailoring, and garment production. Women enrolled in the program will gain hands-on experience that can help them start home-based businesses, small tailoring units, or self-employment ventures, while also opening opportunities to work with garment manufacturing units. By equipping women with practical livelihood skills, the initiative aims to create sustainable income opportunities and improve the quality of life for families within underserved communities. For many participants, this training program will represent a transformational step toward financial independence. Women who often face limited access to education, employment opportunities, and economic resources will now have the chance to develop skills that allow them to contribute actively to their households and communities. Beyond vocational learning, the centre is designed to foster confidence, independence, and social inclusion, empowering women to break cycles of financial dependency.
Over the years, Aahwahan Foundation has established itself as one of the most trusted NGOs for women empowerment and community development in India. The organization has reached more than 6.29 lakh beneficiaries through 19 diverse initiatives across the country, working across sectors such as women empowerment, education, healthcare, skill development, and community welfare. Through its strategic approach and inclusive programs, the foundation ensures that women are not just beneficiaries but active participants in shaping their own futures. As the foundation expands its impact across India, its commitment remains clear-to build a society where women are empowered, respected, and recognized as key contributors to the nation’s progress. This Women’s Day initiative reinforces the message that when women rise, communities grow stronger and the nation moves forward.
