The launch event brought together a wide range of people, including government officials, law enforcement agencies, schools, and local organizations, who discussed how to better recognize and address the dangers children face online.

Monisha Banerjee, Director of Social Welfare at the Department of Women and Child Development, spoke about the crucial role parents play in keeping their children safe online. She stressed the importance of maintaining open lines of communication, where children feel safe to talk about their online experiences and ask for guidance when needed.

IGP Shyni S, who heads the Crime against Women and Child Wing, also attended the event. She reassured parents and children that the police are always ready to help, with a child-friendly approach to handling online issues. She encouraged everyone to use the cyber helpline number (1930) and the cyber control portal for support, ensuring families feel comfortable reaching out for assistance.

The Web Safe and Wise campaign marks an important step in creating a safer online space for children, with communities coming together to protect and empower the younger generation in the digital age.
