Odisha Government Plans Inclusion of Complete Power Department Services Under ‘Ama Shasan’ Digital Governance Platform

Bhubaneswar, June 4:  The state government has shown administrative urgency in further expanding the process of collecting information about major public welfare schemes and services, along with direct public feedback from beneficiaries. In this context, directions have been issued to integrate all remaining citizen services of the Power Department into the centralized public feedback management system known as the ‘Ama Shasan’ platform.

Additionally, for the smooth management of this process, all electricity service institutions have been instructed to appoint a senior officer as the nodal officer.

A directive in this regard has been issued by Lakshmikanta Mishra, Joint Secretary of the Power Department, to the Chief Engineer of the Electricity Department as well as the Chief Executive Officers of:
TPCODL
TPNODL
TPSODL
TPWODL
This step has been taken by the Power Department based on guidance from Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC).
The department has been instructed to share all beneficiary-related data of departmental services integrated into the ‘Ama Shasan’ portal with OCAC through an API-based system. The names and complete details of the nominated nodal officers must also be communicated to the offices of the Chief Secretary, OCAC, and the Power Department.
The initiative will place special emphasis on ensuring satisfactory public service delivery.
It is noteworthy that the ‘Ama Shasan’ platform was launched by the Chief Minister on August 26, 2025, with the objective of increasing public participation in governance and improving service delivery systems.
Under this platform, feedback is being collected directly from beneficiaries through multiple channels, including:
Outbound calls
Website chatbot
WhatsApp
Toll-free call center (14471)
Social media platforms
Mobile application
The system aims to strengthen citizen engagement and improve governance through direct public feedback.
