Kotpad, June 4: The demand has intensified to grant membership and voting rights to Kotpad Sporting Club and United Club in the Sub-Divisional Sports Association without depriving them of participation in the voting process.
To resolve this issue, prominent personalities and sports enthusiasts of Kotpad met local MLA Rupu Bhatra and submitted a memorandum requesting his intervention.
Journalist and RTI activist Anup Patra had been raising this issue for a long time before the District Collector and departmental authorities, alleging that players and clubs from Kotpad were not being included in the association.
