The decision was taken after a meeting between representatives of the Private Bus Owners Association and the Transport Department, where both sides held detailed deliberations on key operational and fare-related concerns.
The association has now given the state government time until June 29 to address its demands. Bus operators have indicated that if their issues remain unresolved by the deadline, they may resume the strike from June 30.
According to the association, a proposal for revision of bus fares based on 14 parameters has been submitted for consideration. The State Transport Authority (STA) is expected to examine the proposal before the government takes a final decision on fare restructuring.
Officials said discussions will continue in a bid to arrive at an amicable solution that balances commuter interests with the financial viability of private transport operators.
