Phulbani, June 8: To create public awareness about the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) programme of the voter list initiated by the Election Commission of India, the Kandhamal district administration launched an awareness chariot campaign.
On Friday morning, at the District Collector’s office premises, Kandhamal Collector and District Election Officer Vedabhushan flagged off the awareness vehicle.
The main objective of the campaign is to spread awareness among people regarding inclusion, correction, and deletion of names in the electoral roll, along with providing information about the SIR programme.
After the inauguration, the awareness chariot travelled through various wards and densely populated areas of Phulbani town, disseminating awareness messages among the public.
On this occasion, Additional District Magistrate Bhaktabandhu Janardan Dalei, Additional District Magistrate Kushal Naik, Sub-Collector Bhikari Sahu, DUDA Project Director Praveen Kumar Banua, along with several district administration officials, were present.
It is expected that this awareness campaign will help ensure the successful implementation of the SIR programme in the district.
