Child Rights and Safety Take Centre Stage as Key Issues Are Addressed During Public Hearing Programme

Bhubaneswar,  June 12:  Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights organized a camp court and public hearing program today at the conference hall of the Sub-Collector’s office in Jeypore, Koraput district.

The program was chaired by Babita Patra. Among those present on the dais were commission members Sujata Nayak, Kasturi Mishra, and Manasmita Khuntia, along with Additional District Magistrate of Koraput Tapan Kumar Nayak and the commission’s legal advisor Abdul Rehman.

Complainants from different parts of Koraput district presented their grievances before the commission. Most of the complaints were related to lack of school infrastructure, weaknesses in the education system, non-availability of ration cards, and other child rights-related issues.

After the hearing, the commission directed the concerned departmental officials to take immediate remedial measures to address the grievances.

Officials present during the public hearing included Integrated Tribal Development Project officers Snehaprabha Majhi and Tripti Borei, Block Development Officer Shakti Mahapatra, Tahsildar Sabyasachi Jena, District Education Officer Prashant Kumar Mohanty, District Child Protection Officer Sangeeta Rani Pani, Child Welfare Committee Chairperson Dr. Gayatri Devi, members Surendra Karana and Shibani Patra, along with police personnel and other district-level officials.
