Members of Koraput District Contractors Association Participate in Tree Plantation Campaign, Reinforcing Commitment to a Greener Future

Baipariguda June 16:   With a focus on environmental protection and social responsibility, the Koraput District Contractors Association organized a large-scale tree plantation program in front of the Jayapur Law College.

The program was conducted under the leadership of contractor Ganesh Nayak, with the participation of a large number of contractors who planted trees to help maintain ecological balance. More than 200 saplings of medicinal and environmentally significant species, including Amla (Indian Gooseberry), Bahada, and Barada, were planted during the event.

On behalf of the Forest Department, Forester Sashanka Maharana coordinated and managed the plantation drive. Among those present were Krushna Gouda, Basanta Tripathy, Balaji Panigrahi, Tarini Panigrahi, Madhu Machha, Jagadish Nayak, K.S. Bisu, Ranjit Patra, Dilip Das, Bijaya Gouda, Dayika Rao, Ranjit Mohapatra, Muni Sahu, Bibhuti Maharana, and more than 80 contractors.

Later, a general meeting of the association was held at the premises of the Sitalagudi Temple. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on protecting the interests of contractors in Koraput district, addressing the various challenges they face, and strengthening the organization. The members also resolved to work collectively in the future for the welfare of contractors across the district.

New Executive Committee Formed

A new executive committee was unanimously elected during the meeting:
President: Bijaya Gouda
Working President: Ganesh Nayak
Secretary: K.S. Bisu
Vice Presidents: Devi Prasad Panda and Simanchal Padhi
Treasurer: Sanjay Jain

Members expressed confidence that the newly formed executive committee would work effectively toward resolving contractors’ issues and promoting their collective development and welfare across the district.
