Kotpad, June 16: Under the i6nitiative of the Odisha Government’s Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, hearing aids were distributed to deaf and hearing-impaired persons at the premises of the Kotpad Panchayat Samiti Office.
The distribution programme was organized under the chairmanship of Kotpad BDO (Block Development Officer) Sandhyarani Samarath. Kotpad MLA Rupu Bhatra attended as the chief guest and distributed hearing aids to 24 beneficiaries.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA highlighted various welfare schemes of the State Government for persons with disabilities and stated that the government is committed to their social and economic empowerment. He emphasized the government’s dedication to improving the lives of persons with disabilities through various support measures.
The beneficiaries expressed their happiness after receiving the hearing aids and stated that the devices would greatly assist them in their daily lives.
Among others present at the programme were MP Representative Binayak Acharya, MLA Representative Suren Mahanti, and officials from various government departments.
