Phulbani, June 16: A committee of the Paika Khandayat Community has been formed in Baliguda of Kandhamal district. On the initiative of retired teacher and educationist Mrutyunjaya Pradhani of Nuasahi, Baliguda, a meeting was held at the premises of the Hanuman Temple in Baliguda town, where the community’s village-level committee was constituted.
The election process was conducted in the presence of the district office-bearers of the Paika Khandayat Community, including District President Laxmi Narayan Dandia, Secretary Srikanta Dal Behera, and Coordinator Jayaram Dandia.
District President Laxmi Narayan Dandia formally inaugurated the meeting by offering floral tributes and lighting a ceremonial lamp before the idol of Lord Jagannath, the revered deity of the Paika Khandayat community.
During the meeting, discussions were held on organizing a grand convention, imparting value-based education to youth, promoting women’s education, and conducting family surveys within the community.
By unanimous consent, the following office-bearers were elected:
President: Manas Ranjan Amayat
Secretary: Subrata Pradhani
Vice-President: Narayan Dalapati
Joint Secretary: Durga Pradhani
Coordinator: Pramod Kumar Dandasena
Advisors: Mrutyunjaya Pradhani, Kailash Pradhani, and Parameswar Dakua
Media/Public Relations Representative: Pavitra Pradhani
Other members elected included:
Advisors: Hindu Pradhani and Sanatan Amayat
Treasurer: Simanchala Gauntia
The meeting was attended by office-bearers and members from 24 village committees of Kandhamal district, including Rama Rao Dandia and several other community representatives.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by the advisors, after which the President formally declared the session closed.
