SCB Blood Centre Recognizes Dr. Naresh Chandra Sahu for His Contribution to Voluntary Blood Donation Movement

Cuttack, June 24 {UDN}: On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day celebrations organized by the SCB Blood Centre at the SCB Auditorium in Cuttack, Odisha Blood Donors’ Federation President Dr. Naresh Chandra Sahu was felicitated.

He was honoured for his continuous contribution in organizing blood donation camps throughout the year, especially during the summer season, to support the SCB Blood Centre in meeting the demand for blood for thalassemia patients and other critical cases.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Medical College Principal Prof. Pratibha Panda, Superintendent Dr. Jyotish Chandra Choudhury, SBTC Joint Director (Blood Safety) Dr. Debashish Mishra, and Head of the Department of Transfusion Medicine at SCB, Dr. Smita Mahapatra.

Special invitees included SCB Administrative Officer Subas Chandra Rout and Associate Professor Sushmita Behera.
On behalf of Dr. Sahu, his elder brother Ramesh Chandra Sahu and Odisha Blood Donors’ Federation representative Rajesh Panda received the certificate of appreciation from Chief Guest Dr. Pratibha Panda.
Dr. Sahu has donated blood 101 times so far and regularly organizes blood donation camps across various districts of Odisha. During the event, more than 100 regular blood donors and organizations were also felicitated.
All staff members of the SCB Transfusion Medicine Department extended their cooperation for the successful conduct of the programme.
