Odisha-Funded Innovative Project Showcased at National Workshop on Green Alternatives for Acid Soil Improvement

Cuttack, June 24 {UDN}:  ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack hosted a National-Level Multi-Stakeholder Workshop on turning industrial by-products (like fly ash and basic slag) into eco-friendly fertilizer alternatives for acid soil management funded under Innovative Projects Scheme of Govt of Odisha.

The Commissioner-cum-Secretary (DAFE), attending as Chief Guest, called for strategy for large-scale deployment of EcoLime+ into state agricultural plans to combat soil acidity, increasing crop productivity, and optimizing resource efficiency.

Field trials across 1,200 hectares have shown EcoLime+ boosts crop yields by up to 16% while cutting DAP fertilizer usage by 15%.
ICAR-CRRI signed key MoUs with industrial giants like Tata Steel, JSW, and IFFCO to fast-track commercial production and build a nationwide integration roadmap for government agricultural programs.
