Major Boost to Environmental Sustainability as Sapling Distribution Centre Opens in Dharakote to Support Plantation Drives Across the Region

Aska, July 6 {UDN}: On the occasion of Van Mahotsav Week, a sapling distribution centre was inaugurated in front of the Dharakote Forest Range Office by Tahsildar Lambodar Marandi.
The programme was held under the supervision of Dharakote Forester Laju Sabar. Among those present were Dharakote Sarpanch Puniya Das, Aska Forester Sarat Chandra Behera, Sheragada Forester Rajendra Gouda, and other officials.

As part of environmental conservation efforts, the Dharakote Forest Division has planned to organize Van Mahotsav programmes in various educational institutions. Under the CAMPA Fund, around 50,000 saplings will be distributed to the public during the campaign.

On the inaugural day, saplings of Indian gooseberry (Amla), Jamun, Arjun, Harida, Bahada, Acacia, Teak, Guava, Drumstick (Moringa), and Papaya were distributed among local residents.
Forest Guard Rakesh Parida and other forest department staff actively assisted in the successful conduct of the programme.
