Bhubaneswar, July 9 [UDN}: The State Government has fulfilled its promise by announcing the establishment of the state’s second College of Fisheries Science in Subarnapur. The administrative process for setting up the institution has already begun. A four-member high-level committee visited Subarnapur and identified a suitable location for the college. Academic activities at the new institution are scheduled to commence from the 2026–27 academic session.
The establishment of this college is expected to strengthen fisheries education and research in western Odisha while creating new opportunities for students and the aquaculture sector in the region.
