Kotpad, July 17 [UDN}: A revised edition of the book “Kotpad in the Mirror of History” was unveiled during a literary gathering held at the premises of the Gopabandhu Library in Kotpad. The book highlights the contributions and achievements of many talented personalities from various fields associated with Kotpad.
The event was presided over by the President of the library, Ganesh Panda. The programme was conducted by the publisher of the book and senior film actor Prakash Chandra Mohanty, who emphasized the importance, objectives, and relevance of publishing such a book for preserving the region’s history and heritage.
Among the distinguished guests present were retired teachers Godabarish Acharya and Bansidhar Sasmal, who shared their views on the significance of documenting local history. On the occasion, several prominent personalities including Bar Association Vice-President Mukteswar Nayak, Pradeep Kumar Bakshi, Bidyutlata Bakshi, Sanjukta Mahapatra, Hemanta Patra, Ranjan Mahuria, Dayanidhi Patra Bagh, and Ananda Drakshalata expressed their opinions about the book and appreciated the efforts of the publisher in bringing out the publication.
Speaking as guests and speakers at the event, they stressed the need for strengthening the library movement and cultivating reading habits among the younger generation so that more young people can become readers and remain connected to literature, history, and culture.
