Bhubaneswar, July 23 UDN}: The fourth meeting of the Prison Development Board was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anu Garg. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on various issues related to the development and modernization of prisons across the state.
The meeting focused on strengthening prison infrastructure, improving administrative and security mechanisms, and enhancing the overall welfare and rehabilitation of inmates. The Chief Secretary advised the concerned authorities to take comprehensive and multi-dimensional measures to ensure modern security arrangements in prisons while also giving due priority to the safety, dignity, welfare, skill development, and rehabilitation of prisoners.
The meeting also discussed various initiatives aimed at improving prison management and creating a more secure, humane, and reform-oriented correctional environment. Emphasis was placed on adopting modern technologies and strengthening security systems to ensure effective prison administration and better monitoring.
Chief Secretary Anu Garg advised the concerned departments and officials to work in a coordinated manner and take necessary steps for the overall development of prisons and the welfare of inmates. The recommendations and decisions discussed during the meeting are expected to contribute towards making the state’s prison system more modern, secure, efficient, and focused on rehabilitation.
