Koraput:July 25 UDN}: With the aim of creating awareness among farmers about the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), a crop insurance awareness chariot was launched in Koraput district. The Koraput District Collector flagged off the awareness chariot by showing the green flag.
The awareness chariot will travel through various blocks, panchayats and rural areas of the district, providing farmers with information about the benefits of the crop insurance scheme, the application process, required documents and the rules and regulations of the scheme.
The main objective of the scheme is to protect farmers against crop losses caused by natural calamities. The awareness campaign has been launched so that more and more farmers can avail themselves of the benefits of the scheme.
Agriculture Department officials, district administration staff and others were present at the launch programme. The administration expressed hope that the campaign would create widespread awareness about crop insurance among farmers in rural areas.
