Bhubaneswar, Odisha — Heavy monsoon showers continued across western and southern Odisha, with Nuapada district recording the highest rainfall in the state in the last 24 hours.
According to the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, Sinapali in Nuapada received 164 mm of rainfall, the highest during the period. Several other areas, including Khariar and Boden, also witnessed intense rainfall.
The widespread showers brought relief from dry conditions but affected normal life in some areas. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, especially in low-lying regions, as continued rainfall may lead to waterlogging and rising river levels.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has advised people to remain alert and follow weather updates as active monsoon conditions continue across Odisha.
