Bhadrak, July 30 (UDN): A farmer was rescued safely after spending nearly 24 hours stranded on a palm tree amid floodwaters in Bhadrak district.
The farmer, Trilochan Sahu of Gundicha Sahi village in Dhamnagar block, had gone to his paddy field when rising floodwaters surrounded him. With no safe route back, he climbed a palm tree to save his life and remained there overnight.
After his family raised an alarm, local authorities and ODRAF teams launched a search operation. Following hours of efforts, the rescue team located him and brought him to safety on Thursday morning.
Trilochan was found in stable condition after the rescue. The successful operation highlighted the quick response and coordination of disaster management teams and local authorities during the flood situation.
